Check out the below footage of the 2013 CongoSwim action at Lake Tahoe where Keris Dahlkamp swam solo for 22 mile (14 hours). He was joined by Coco Ramazani, a Congolese woman who intimately knows the horrors of war. In the below video Coco ceremoniously writes words to represent her pain upon a stone which she threw in. Kambale Musavuli, the spokesperson for Friends of the Congo, learned to swim only months before taking on a part of the strongest current and waves of the day at Tahoe alongside Keris. While Coco’s prayer in the video is Christian, CongoSwim and the beneficiary groups are not religiously affiliated. Participants from all beliefs and traditions are encouraged to be a part of the collective action.
